'Helen Kelly believes it is imperative that descendants of Irish emigrants return to their ancestral homestead and linger awhile.

Family history, she says, is primarily about people and their connectedness. Most of us crave to push the paper trail back to the middle ages, and beyond.

In doing so, we can overlook the fact that the physical birth place of our ancestor may yield its own secrets to us ....... if we decide to linger.
